Solar energy has long been thought of as rigid panels that are expensive. This may have caused you to dismiss solar energy systems as an option for you. That is changing.

Solar panels come in many weights, and materials. Thin film solar panels are very light; they stick to the metal roof. Peel and stick solar panels are designed to be used on a new or an existing roof or building where weights and wind lift may be a concern. If weight on the roof or wind lift was a concern when you considered the solid solar panels then the thin film solar panels may be the right option for you, and they work for commercial as well as residential buildings.

Thin film solar panels use fewer materials than crystalline solar panels which makes them more cost effective to purchase. Thin film solar panels are peeled and stuck to the metal roofing. There are no mounting brackets to buy. When fewer materials are used the solar panels are more environmentally friendly as well as cost effective. Whether you are using solar panels for commercial use or for your own home you will be contributing to a better environment and you may even be able to sell your extra electricity back to the grid and substantially lower or maybe even eliminate your monthly electric bill.

Thin film solar panels are very durable as they have been used in some of the most extreme conditions you can imagine, satellites, ocean buoys, and military applications. As long as your home or business is calmer than the ocean, and doesn't resemble a battle zone the thin film solar panels should work well for you for many years.

The more we all do for our environment the better off our future will be for many generations to come. It all starts when you change your thoughts just a little at a time.

It seems that as time goes by and we become more conscious of the need to conserve, so manufacturers come up with cheaper solutions. It's great!
